CUSTOM 3D PRINTING TERMS

These Custom 3D Printing Terms apply to custom printing services provided by D.D Collectables LLC under the Serial Shield 3D™ brand.

Serial Shield 3D™ provides printing services using customer-supplied, print-ready files.

We do not currently design, create, repair, modify, convert, resize, or otherwise edit customer files. We also do not convert photographs, sketches, measurements, ideas, or damaged files into printable models.

File review is limited to determining whether the supplied file appears compatible with our available equipment, materials, and production capabilities. File review does not guarantee that a project will be accepted or that an undetected problem within the model will not affect the finished print.

The customer is responsible for providing:

  • A complete and usable STL or other compatible print-ready file
  • The required finished dimensions
  • The desired quantity
  • The intended use of the part
  • Material and color preferences
  • Any functional, fit, strength, temperature, or appearance requirements
  • An accurate shipping ZIP Code
  • Any requested completion date

Serial Shield 3D™ may decline a project because of file condition, dimensions, material requirements, support requirements, equipment limitations, production time, safety concerns, intellectual-property concerns, or other reasonable business considerations.

By submitting a file or other project material, the customer confirms that:

  • The customer owns the file and design or has permission from the applicable owner to submit and reproduce them.
  • Serial Shield 3D™ is authorized to use the submitted materials to evaluate, quote, produce, and fulfill the requested order.
  • The requested product does not knowingly infringe another party’s copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, privacy right, publicity right, or other legal right.
  • Any names, logos, characters, artwork, photographs, or protected designs included in the project are being used with proper authorization.

The customer retains whatever ownership rights the customer lawfully holds in the submitted materials.

Submitting materials does not transfer ownership to D.D Collectables LLC. The customer grants D.D Collectables LLC limited, nonexclusive permission to receive, store, review, reproduce, and use the materials only as reasonably necessary to evaluate the project, prepare a quote, produce the approved order, provide customer support, and maintain required business records.

This permission does not authorize Serial Shield 3D™ to sell the customer’s file, manufacture unrelated copies, or use the design for unrelated advertising.

Serial Shield 3D™ does not independently verify ownership of every submitted file. Accepting or reviewing a file does not constitute a legal determination that the customer owns or is authorized to use it.

Serial Shield 3D™ may request reasonable proof that the customer is authorized to use a submitted file, design, logo, character, or other protected material.

We may decline, suspend, or cancel a project that we reasonably believe:

  • Violates applicable law or another party’s rights
  • Involves counterfeit, deceptive, infringing, or unauthorized products
  • Creates an unreasonable safety concern
  • Falls outside our equipment, materials, production capabilities, or business policies
  • Contains incomplete, corrupted, misleading, or unusable information

If Serial Shield 3D™ declines a paid project before production begins, the amount paid for the declined work will be refunded.

Each quote applies only to the specific file version, dimensions, quantity, material, color, finishing requirements, and shipping information reviewed for that quote.

Replacing or changing a file, dimensions, quantity, material, color, or other project requirement may require another review and a revised quote.

A file submission or quote request does not create an accepted order. A custom-printing project is accepted only after:

  • Serial Shield 3D™ approves the project
  • The customer accepts the written quote
  • Any required payment has been received
  • Any additional project requirements stated in the quote have been satisfied

Applicable taxes, shipping charges, special packaging, or other charges will be identified in the quote or during checkout when applicable.

Production estimates begin only after the project has been accepted and all required files, information, approvals, and payments have been received.

Custom parts are produced through additive manufacturing using the customer-supplied file and the specifications stated in the accepted quote.

Visible layer lines, seam points, minor surface-texture differences, and reasonable support-contact marks are normal characteristics of the 3D-printing process. These characteristics are not defects when they are consistent with the approved material, printing method, and quoted project requirements.

Unless the accepted quote expressly includes additional finishing, products are supplied in their completed as-printed condition. Sanding, painting, coating, polishing, assembly, hardware installation, and other finishing services are not included unless specifically stated in writing.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the submitted file contains the correct dimensions and scale. Serial Shield 3D™ will print the file at the scale identified in the accepted quote and will not independently resize or modify the model.

If written measurements conflict with the dimensions encoded in the submitted file, production may be paused until the customer provides clarification or a corrected file.

Finished dimensions may vary because of material behavior, model geometry, printer calibration, print orientation, shrinkage, and other normal manufacturing factors. Customers must disclose any critical dimensions, tolerances, mating components, threads, press fits, clearances, or functional-fit requirements before accepting the quote.

A particular tolerance or guaranteed fit applies only when it is expressly stated in the accepted written quote. Serial Shield 3D™ may recommend or require a separately quoted test print when fit or dimensional accuracy is critical.

Available materials and colors depend on current inventory, project requirements, and equipment compatibility. The accepted quote will identify the approved material and color.

Minor differences in color, shade, sheen, and surface appearance may occur between material batches or may appear differently on electronic displays. A materially different material or color will not be substituted without customer approval.

Unless expressly stated otherwise in the accepted quote, 3D-printed plastics are not represented as archival-safe, chemically inert, food-safe, medical-grade, heat-resistant, electrically certified, or suitable for regulated applications.

Serial Shield 3D™ will determine print orientation, support placement, and production settings unless specific requirements are included in the accepted quote.

Some models require supports or orientations that leave visible contact marks or create different surface textures on particular areas. If the appearance of a specific face or surface is important, the customer must identify that requirement before accepting the quote.

The customer must disclose the intended use of the product and any strength, temperature, environmental, chemical, electrical, or safety requirements before accepting the quote.

Custom-printed parts are not certified for medical, protective, life-safety, structural, load-bearing, electrical, food-contact, automotive-safety, or other regulated uses unless the accepted written quote expressly states otherwise.

Requests to change or cancel an order must be sent promptly to sales@serialshield3d.com.

Before production begins, Serial Shield 3D™ may approve a requested change and issue a revised quote. Changes are not accepted until confirmed in writing.

Once production has begun, custom orders ordinarily cannot be changed or canceled because materials, machine time, and labor have been committed to that specific project.

If Serial Shield 3D™ approves a cancellation before production begins, payment for the canceled work will be refunded. Any cancellation rights provided by an applicable shipment-delay notice or applicable law remain unaffected.

Production begins only after the order has been accepted and all required files, specifications, approvals, and payments have been received.

Quoted production and completion times are estimates unless a specific deadline is expressly guaranteed in the accepted written quote. Production may be affected by project complexity, quantity, printing time, material availability, equipment issues, failed prints, quality-control findings, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Rush production, delivery by a particular date, or partial shipment is included only when expressly stated in the accepted quote.

Serial Shield 3D™ will not knowingly substitute a materially different file, material, color, size, or product specification without customer approval.

If Serial Shield 3D™ determines that an accepted order cannot be shipped within the stated time, we will provide any legally required delay notice and customer options.

The notice may provide a revised shipment date or state that a definite revised date cannot be provided. When required, the customer may agree to the delay or cancel the unshipped order for a prompt refund.

If the customer does not consent to a delay when affirmative consent is required, or if Serial Shield 3D™ determines that the order cannot be completed, the affected unshipped order will be canceled and refunded as required by applicable law.

A shipping label does not establish that an order has shipped. An order is considered shipped when the completed merchandise has been physically placed in the carrier’s possession. Carrier transit delays occurring afterward are addressed under the Shipping Policy.

Customers should inspect custom products promptly after delivery.

Report an incorrect item, quantity shortage, material discrepancy, visible manufacturing defect, transit damage, or failure to match the accepted written quote to sales@serialshield3d.com, preferably within seven calendar days after delivery.

Include:

  • The order number
  • A description of the problem
  • Clear photographs of the entire product and affected area
  • Photographs of the shipping container, label, and packaging when shipping damage may be involved
  • Any measurements reasonably necessary to document a dimensional issue

Keep the product and all shipping materials until Serial Shield 3D™ provides instructions. Do not return, modify, repair, discard, or reship the product before receiving instructions.

Failure to report an issue promptly may limit our ability to verify its cause or pursue a carrier claim, but it does not eliminate any rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

Custom-printed products are made from customer-supplied files and are final sale except when:

  • The product contains a verified manufacturing defect
  • Serial Shield 3D™ produced the wrong item, quantity, material, color, or quoted dimensions
  • The product was materially damaged during shipment
  • The product materially fails to match the accepted written quote
  • A return, cancellation, replacement, or refund is required by applicable law

A return or free reprint is not ordinarily available because of:

  • A defect, error, or unwanted feature contained in the customer-supplied file
  • Incorrect scale, dimensions, orientation, clearances, or specifications supplied or approved by the customer
  • A change of mind or change in the customer’s intended use
  • Normal layer lines, seams, support-contact marks, or disclosed print characteristics
  • Minor color, shade, sheen, or surface variations
  • Fit or performance requirements that were not disclosed and expressly included in the accepted quote

All returns require prior authorization and must follow the provided return instructions.

Serial Shield 3D™ will compare a reported issue with the accepted quote, supplied file version, approved specifications, photographs, measurements, and returned product when applicable.

For a verified issue for which Serial Shield 3D™ is responsible, the available remedy may include:

  • Reprinting the affected product
  • Replacing the affected product
  • Repairing the product when practical and approved by the customer
  • Refunding the amount paid for the affected product
  • Refunding applicable shipping charges when required

The appropriate remedy will depend on the nature of the problem, the accepted quote, available materials, production feasibility, and applicable law.

If the problem resulted from the customer-supplied file or specifications, Serial Shield 3D™ may offer a separately quoted corrected reprint after the customer supplies an updated print-ready file.

Store credit will not replace a legally required monetary refund unless the customer voluntarily agrees to accept it. Nothing in these terms limits a customer remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or waived.

Serial Shield 3D™ will produce the accepted project using the customer-supplied file version and specifications identified in the accepted written quote. Verified failures to match those requirements will be addressed under the Review and Available Remedies section.

Serial Shield 3D™ does not warrant or guarantee that a customer-supplied design is accurate, structurally sound, suitable for its intended purpose, or free from defects contained within the file.

Except for commitments expressly stated in the accepted written quote and warranties or rights provided by applicable law, no additional guarantee is made concerning:

  • Fit or compatibility that was not disclosed and approved
  • Undisclosed dimensional tolerances
  • Strength, service life, or load capacity
  • Heat, chemical, moisture, sunlight, or environmental resistance
  • Suitability for regulated, hazardous, or safety-critical uses
  • Performance after customer modification, misuse, improper installation, or exposure outside the disclosed intended use

Nothing in these terms disclaims or limits an implied warranty, statutory protection, or consumer remedy that cannot lawfully be disclaimed or limited.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, D.D Collectables LLC and Serial Shield 3D™ will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising from a custom-printing order, including lost profits, lost production, lost business, lost data, or loss of use.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, total liability arising from an affected custom-printing order will not exceed the amount paid for the affected portion of that order.

These limitations do not apply to:

  • A remedy expressly provided in these terms or the accepted written quote
  • Liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited
  • Fraud, intentional misconduct, or gross negligence
  • Death, personal injury, or property damage to the extent liability cannot lawfully be limited
  • Rights or remedies available under applicable consumer-protection law

The customer is responsible for determining whether the finished product is suitable for its intended use.

Before relying on a custom-printed product, the customer should inspect and test its dimensions, fit, strength, stability, temperature resistance, and compatibility as appropriate for the intended application.

A product should not be used in a medical, protective, structural, electrical, food-contact, automotive-safety, life-safety, or other regulated application unless that use was expressly reviewed and approved in the accepted written quote.

Customer inspection and testing responsibilities do not eliminate available remedies for a verified manufacturing error for which Serial Shield 3D™ is responsible.

Customers must retain their original files and project information. Serial Shield 3D™ does not provide permanent file storage, archival storage, or backup services for customer files.

Submitted files and related project records may be retained for a reasonable period when necessary to:

  • Evaluate and produce the project
  • Provide customer support
  • Verify specifications or resolve a dispute
  • Process a replacement or approved reprint
  • Maintain tax, accounting, transaction, fraud-prevention, or legally required records

Serial Shield 3D™ may delete working files after they are no longer reasonably needed. Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove copies contained in routine backups or records that must be retained for legal or business purposes.

File handling remains subject to the Privacy Policy and the limited authorization stated in these terms.

These Custom 3D Printing Terms, the accepted written quote, and any applicable website policies form the agreement for the custom-printing order.

The accepted written quote controls project-specific details such as:

  • File version
  • Dimensions
  • Quantity
  • Material
  • Color
  • Finishing requirements
  • Price
  • Production estimate
  • Shipping arrangements

If a project-specific term in the accepted written quote directly conflicts with these general terms, the project-specific written term controls for that order unless prohibited by applicable law.

Oral conversations, informal estimates, photographs, mockups, or previous communications do not modify an accepted order unless the change is confirmed in writing by Serial Shield 3D™.

These terms and custom-printing orders are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Before filing a legal claim, the customer and D.D Collectables LLC should make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the dispute by contacting sales@serialshield3d.com.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, legal proceedings relating to these terms or a custom-printing order must be brought in a state or federal court having jurisdiction in Bexar County, Texas.

This provision does not deprive a customer of any mandatory protection, remedy, jurisdiction, or venue right provided by applicable law.

If a provision of these terms is found invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted or removed to the minimum extent necessary. The remaining provisions will continue in effect.

Failure by either party to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce that provision later.

Section headings are provided for convenience and do not change the meaning of these terms.

Serial Shield 3D™ may update these terms by posting a revised version and changing the effective date.

The version in effect when a custom-printing order is accepted will govern that order. A later update will not materially change an already accepted order unless:

  • The customer and Serial Shield 3D™ agree to the change in writing
  • The change benefits the customer
  • The change is required by applicable law

Provisions concerning payment, submitted-file rights, intellectual property, file retention, liability, dispute resolution, and other obligations that logically continue after order completion will remain effective after fulfillment, cancellation, refund, or termination of the order.
